After signing a one-year contract with Los Angeles FC, Wales' captain Gareth Bale is scheduled to join Major League Soccer (MLS),The 32-year-old joins after a successful career with Real Madrid came to a close this summer. He won't be a Designated Player, hence his pay will be included in LAFC's wage cap.
Bale posted a video on social media on Saturday in which he is shown wearing a LAFC jersey and making his signature heart celebration to announce the move.The tweets and Instagram pictures concluded, "See you soon, Los Angeles."
Bale joined Real Madrid in 2013 for a then-record-breaking sum, winning five Champions Leagues, three La Liga championships, and one Copa Del Rey while forming a fearsome attacking trident with Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Los Blancos were drawn to the winger's performances at Tottenham Hotspur in England, where Bale twice won the PFA Players' Player of the Year award and was named the Premier League's Player of the Season in 2013.
The six-time Welsh Footballer of the Year lands in LA after earlier this month helping his team reach its first World Cup finals in 64 years. Wales won Ukraine 1-0 in the postponed qualifier thanks to Bale's deflected free-kick, securing their trip to Qatar in November.
